As I’ve already had one phone call this morning asking how I did, here’s the result for Castle Ward:

Nick Barlow (Lib Dem): 1113

Green: 715
Conservative: 583
Labour: 368

Thanks to everyone who voted for me, and I look forward to representing you for another four years.

Elsewhere in Colchester, everything stayed the same with every seat being held, despite Labour and Tory claims that they were certain to take seats off us. For the full results, see the Council’s website.

  1. Well done. I’ve been living away from Colchester for nearly 2 years but all the same I’m surpised that your lot has done well in this years elections.

Where I am the Lib Dems have been wiped off the district council, and I’m sure you are aware of Lib Dem losses across the border in Sheffield, where the Clegg effect has resulted in previously safe Lib Dem seats such as Broomhill & Nether Edge going Labour.

  2. Congratulations and well done.
