Future development of the series

Our aim is to base the series around the characters and how they develop following Rob's return to Easthampton. While each episode can stand alone, the vision is to have storylines developing in the background of each episode, occasionally coming to the fore, as in comedy series such as Friends or Frasier.

They Have To Let You In, the episode submitted with this proposal is the first episode of the series. Our ideas for future development and further episodes are as follows:

Episode 2:

Rob gets his business off the ground and looks for new investment opportunities 'adivsed' by Chris who tries to get Rob to invest in him. His concurrent attempts to rebuild his friendship with Kate are hampered by his inability to remain straight faced on hearing the circumstances of his death. 'Assisted' by Dave, Della attempts to find a Californian-style therapist in Easthampton.

Episode 3:

An American journalist arrives in town, looking to do a 'where are they now?' feature on Rob, but Rob's struggle to install new kitchen furniture in his flat and his helping out at the hotel give entirely the wrong impression. Kate and Della develop their friendship during a night out at Pretty Boy Floyd's.

Episode 4:

Dave's attempts to persuade Della to go out on a date with him make Chris jealous, causing him to resrt to sabotage to prevent any date happening, not realising that Della has no intention of going out anywhere with Dave. Rob's attempts to engage in property development bring him into competition with Kate, forcing them to try to come to an agreement.

Episode 5:

Rob is invited to return to his old school to pass in his wisdom to the pupils. Chris feels that they deserve the benefit of his experience as well. They discover how much the school has changed since they were there, including the fact that their old PE teacher is now headmaster while Dave has a close encounter with Miss Hedges. Kate persuades Della to go on a date with a business acquintance of hers.

Episode 6:

Determined to prove what he does for the local community, Chris stands for election as President of the Chamber of Commerce, but his enlisting of Rob's help backfires as other members of the Chamber persuade Rob to stand against him. When Dave's cat dies, Della and Kate have to console him

Episode 7:

Rob and Chris are persuaded to sponsor rival Sunday league football teams. As their obsession with the local cup competition draws in Dave and Kate, Della is left to give a presentation to Rob's potential investors in a hotel that has been left in the hands of Brendan the resident dogsbody.

Episode 8:

In the concluding episode of the series, Kate graduates from estate agents college, allowing her to be an equal partner in her business. Chris throws a party at the hotel which rapidly descends into chaos. The next morning, everyone tries to piece together just what happened and who they may have spent the night with.
